Philile Maphumulo

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer

PHILILE is a co-founder and CEO of Heritage Capital Partners, with over 10 years of private equity and corporate finance experience.

Philile is a former CEO of Nozala Investments and prior to that spent 6-years at RMB Corvest, one of the private equity divisions of Rand Merchant Bank, where she was part of a team that managed over R3 billion in private equity assets. Her deal-making experience spans a variety of industrial, manufacturing and services companies . She is a former director of Servest Group, Tsebo Outsourcing Group, Efficient Engineering and Eaton Electric.

She is a Chartered Accountant and completed her articles at Deloitte in the Financial Institutions Service Team.

Kedibone Imathiu

KEDIBONE is co-founder and director of Heritage Capital Partners, with 10-years of private equity, corporate finance and accounting advisory experience.

She is a former Fund Principal for Public Investment Corporation (PIC), where she led a team that has invested in transactions in excess of R2bn. Prior to PIC, Kedibone held a role as a Corporate Finance Consultant in the Investment Banking Division at Investec Bank Limited, where she spent time in the Johannesburg and London offices. Her investment experience spans a number of sectors including agriculture, healthcare and education in which she also served on a number of boards.

She is a Chartered Accountant and completed her articles at KPMG, Johannesburg and held a subsequent accounting advisory role in the Global Conversion Services team in the KPMG New York office .

Lindiwe Buthelezi

LINDIWE has more than 12 years of investment experience including deal sourcing, structuring, execution and post investment management. She is currently part of the Product Development: Alternative Assets team at Ashburton Investments. Prior to this, Lindiwe was a senior deal maker at the Industrial Development Corporation’s Venture Capital/New Industries Team where she was involved in funding start-up companies in sectors covering information technology, manufacturing, renewable energy, biochemistry etc. She was also a member of the Technology Venture Fund (a DTI Fund managed by the IDC) investment committee. Prior to the IDC, Lindiwe spent four years at Vantage Capital Group as an associate involved in Private Equity and Mezzanine Funding (including BEE deals). She represented Vantage on the boards of companies that include Kwikspace, Comcorp Holdings, Grapevine Interactive and Breathetex Technologies. Lindiwe has also previously worked for Enterprise Equity Partners, Investec Private Bank and Decorum Capital Partners.

Michael (Motty) Sacks

MOTTY has almost 50 years’ experience as a consultant, advisor and mentor to numerous local and foreign companies and executives. He has also held executive and non-executive office in various business sectors, including healthcare, financial services, technology, education, property and manufacturing. Motty was a cofounder of Netcare Limited, having served as its executive chairman, thereafter as a non-executive chairman and director. Motty was also the co-founder and Chairman of Aplitec Ltd (now Net 1), he is the co-founder and mentor to BEE controlled Afrocentric Investment Corp. Ltd and is also the co-founder and Chairman of Capital Appreciation Ltd. Motty serves and has served as chairman and/or director on several boards including Fedsure Holdings, Federated Employers Mutual, Federated General, Saambou Bank Holdings, The Automobile Association, Clinic Holdings, Advtech Limited, The International Association of Political Consultants and Adcock Ingram.

Buyisiwe Makhunga

BUYISIWE is a co-founder and director of Heritage Capital Partners with 11 years investment banking experience working in the Investec Corporate Finance division. In her role as a senior advisor at Investec, she was engaged on a number of transactions with a total value in excess of R25 billion, in both the listed and unlisted environment. Her transaction experience ranges from general Mergers and Acquisitions to B-BBEE transactions in a variety of sectors involving a wide range of blue-chip clients. Prior to Investec, Buyisiwe completed her articles at PwC Johannesburg office and briefly at the San Fransciso Office on a secondment. Buyisiwe completed the African Leadership Development Program with Oxford University in 2011, is an Archbishop Desmond Tutu fellow and was awarded the ABSIP Corporate Financier of the year award in 2013. She is the founding member of Seeds of Hope Education Initiative, a non-profit organization focusing on the implementation of education programs in under-privileged schools.
